Representatives from SpringTide enjoyed two days of interesting and informative workshops and networking at this year’s Procurex exhibition at the Birmingham NEC.

Taking a stand alongside a wide variety of procurement-related companies and suppliers, we had some fascinating and productive discussions with both delegates and exhibitors. It was reassuring to find so many people with a common passion for achieving best practice in procurement and for developing their skills and knowledge.

The two days were packed with workshops and speeches on a huge range of subjects. In his keynote speech, David Noble – the new President of CIPS – made some encouraging comments on the increasing importance of procurement. As an example, he cited the Bank of England’s use of the PMI Index as one of seven main indicators of performance in the UK economy. This in itself demonstrates how the profile of purchasing has risen over the last 5 years.
